Official Press Release!
It is official, EastSide Angels is open for business. In December of 2022, CitySide Ventures established EastSide Angels in partnership with a few highly successful Macomb County business people.
EastSide Angels is an early-stage investors membership syndicate that is designed for active investors to help tech based start-up companies in the east side of the state. The group currently has 10 founding members and 38 open applications, as the group targets to have 100 active investors by the end of the year.
The Chairman and CEO of CitySide Ventures , Doron York spoke at the Velocity Center in Sterling Heights on March 8 about angel investing and the current market opportunities.
When it comes to investing, Michigan is a conservative state in general. So we decided to build something against the grain and break the mold,” York said.
We aspire to have 500 Michigan start-ups funded through our capital network by 2028. Start-up companies don’t leave the state because Michigan is not a good place to do business. They leave because they can’t find early stage capital. And when they leave the state, guess what, they don’t come back. So we want to stop the bleeding. We want to stop them before they leave and say wait a minute: “If you’re as good as you think you are, maybe you should keep it here, in Michigan that is”
If you are an Accredited Investor (Reg-D) interested in attending EastSide Angels next exploratory meeting, and would like to be a part of the movement, please register (seats are limited). See link below.
